PanDownload alternatives that still work (2026)
PanDownload was the tool everyone used to pull Baidu Pan files at full speed without paying for SVIP. Its developer was arrested in 2020 and the project died with him. Six years later, people still search for it every day. Here's what replaced it — honestly rated.
Why the "free full speed" tools keep dying
They all worked the same way: pretend to be Baidu's own client or borrow a leaked VIP session to dodge the throttle. Baidu patches these paths, and running them at scale is exactly what got PanDownload's author prosecuted. Any tool promising free unlimited speed today is either already broken or about to be.
The alternatives, by use case
1. You have one link and just want the file → a download service
Services like BaiduFast keep their own SVIP account and act as the middleman: paste the link, they fetch it at full speed (we measure ~19 MB/s) and give you a direct download link. No account, no software, pay per link, small files free. Best when you don't want to touch Baidu at all.
2. You download from Baidu every week → BaiduPCS-Go + your own SVIP
BaiduPCS-Go is an open-source command-line client that downloads with many parallel connections. It does not bypass the throttle — on a free account you'll still get ~70 KB/s — but with an SVIP account it's the fastest self-hosted option and it handles folders well. Requires a Baidu account, a terminal, and cookies copied from your browser.
3. You're on a Chinese network anyway → the official client + SVIP
If you can register and pay (¥30/month), Baidu's own client with SVIP is fine. The pain is entirely in registration and payment from abroad.
4. Cloud-to-cloud transfer tools
MultCloud and similar services can copy from Baidu to Google Drive, but they still need your own Baidu account logged in, and their free tiers transfer slowly. Useful if you already have an account and want files to land in Drive.
